DONA A NUESTRO PROYECTO “1”
Summary
50% of women in Guatemala will face domestic abuse, with that number likely higher within Indigenous and rural communities. AMRIS has a Safe Space (Espacio Seguro) within rural Huehuetenango for women to access psychosocial support. This project will support 800+ women and manage 75 cases requiring accompaniment and referral to specialised services for protection and legal assistance. 10 information sessions will be held to promote violence prevention, women's rights, and access to services.
DONA A NUESTRO PROYECTO “2”
Summary
This project will empower rural Indigenous Mayan women by providing 505 hens and 101 roosters, training in poultry production and entrepreneurship, and workshops to provide community support and leadership. This project will allow the women to have autonomy and economic independence, which will help against domestic abuse faced by over 50% of Indigenous women in Guatemala
